You first, grammar later.
How many times have you studied a language and still couldn't say what you actually wanted to say?
It happens because we start from the rules and work our way towards people. I do the opposite! We start from you: from what you like, from what you need and from what makes you laugh. Until one day you realise you're speaking Italian without thinking about it.
...Mica male, no? (not bad, right?)
Before we start, let's get to know each other!
Two people with the same level of Italian need two different lessons. It's the simplest thing in the world and almost nobody does it.
A few questions, five minutes, nothing to get wrong. You tell me what you like, how you learn and what you need. Then the first lesson is already built around you: we start from a song, from a work email or from something that just won't click. From wherever you need.
What we can do together
Three different paths, one way of working: we start from you.
Learning Italian 🇮🇹

We all dream of la dolce vita in Italy. But can you order a coffee the right way, catch what everyone else is laughing about at the bar, move through an Italian holiday like you've been there before?
That's exactly where we start: from food, from songs, from films, from whatever you're into. And if you need Italian for work, for clients in Ticino or for a meeting in Milan, the method is the same: we start from real situations, not from page 1 of the textbook.
The grammar comes along by itself, and don't worry, there are no textbooks to buy. I take care of the materials.
Doing well at school 📚

Writing is almost always the hardest part. An argumentative essay has a precise structure, creative writing asks for something else entirely, while summarising means learning to spot what matters instead of copying out pages from the book. The same goes for oral exams, where the real challenge is not walking in with your heart in your mouth.
These are skills every humanities subject demands, but that school rarely teaches. Here we prepare tomorrow's homework together, and in doing so we build the method that will work for all the ones after.
I've taught in schools and I know what gets asked. But here there are no grades, no classmates watching: you can get things wrong in peace, which is the only way to learn.
Reading for pleasure 📖

At school, literature is often a subject to get through, and Dante gets read because you have to. Then the years pass and the curiosity stays: understanding why those texts are still alive, or simply reading something beautiful with someone to talk to about it.
Here there's no syllabus to follow, no exam at the end. We reread the great ones together, then go looking for authors and poets nobody ever introduced us to, though they deserve it. I bring the texts and the context, you bring the questions.
No preparation needed. Just the wish to read.

Ciao, I'm Giulia

I studied Italian Studies at the University of Zurich and I'm finishing my teaching diploma for upper secondary schools. Since 2024 I've been teaching Italian in Swiss secondary schools, both academic and vocational.
My Master's thesis looked at the Commedia as a work about teaching. In Dante, knowledge doesn't come down from above: it's built in the bond between the one who guides and the one who walks. It sounds like something only specialists would care about, but it's exactly why I work the way I do.
Because that bond is the part that matters and in a syllabus built for twenty-five people there's almost never room to build it. Here there is. I prepare the materials myself, I change pace and method depending on who's in front of me and above all I teach the subject I loved studying. I also speak German, French and English, so I know what it means to learn a language from scratch.
